PHOTOGRAPHY: A FORM OF ART

Photography is an art or rather a practice of creating images. When an image is printed in a paper it is called as print.  It was Sir John Herschel in a lecture before the Royal Society of London, on March 14, 1839 who made the word "photography" known to the world. The word photography is based on the Greek φς (photos) "light" and γραφή (graphé) "representation by means of lines" or "drawing", together meaning "drawing with light". Photography is of utmost importance in the field of science as well as art and culture.

WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE DIGITAL CAMERA
All photography was originally monochrome, or black-and-white. Even after color film was readily available, black-and-white photography continued to dominate for decades, due to its lower cost and its "classic" photographic look. The first permanent color photograph was taken in 1861 by physicist James Clerk Maxwell in 1855. The first commercially successful color process, was introduced by the Lumière brothers in 1907. The Hasselblad H4D-60 is probably the most expensive digital camera in the world. This DSLR camera has an astonishing 60 megapixel 40 x 54 mm sensor.

Photography is one of the new media forms that changes perception and changes the structure of society but some people still do not accept photography as an art. Photography is an art form that can evoke emotions and thoughts as loudly as a painter's or a writers' and so it is different than just taking pictures. One of the most famous photographer is  Ansel Adams whose eye for catching the beauty of nature is amazing. As with any form of art, it has the power to change a person's perspective, or at least make him or her think.
