ARCHITECTURE

PYRAMIDS OF GIZAH

Architecture is considered as a fine art. It has been a part of the history as we can see the pyramids of Egypt and many more. Cities and Countries can be recognized through their architectural monuments. They help in preserving the culture of a nation. They provide practical purposes, for example a building gives shelter and home where as painting or any other form of art do not give such utility purpose.

Leonardo da Vinci was a great artist, but he also designed bridges, which implies that drawing and painting are related to architecture thought they are not the same. It is basically the process of planning, designing and construction. A product of architecture should satisfy conditions such as its durability, costing, sustainability, beauty and utility. Texts on architecture have been written since ancient time. In many ancient civilizations, such as that of Egypt and Mesopotamia, architecture and urbanism reflected the constant engagement with the divine and the supernatural, and many ancient cultures resorted to monumentality in architecture to represent symbolically the political power of the ruler, the ruling elite, or the state itself.
